Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has reacted to criticism of the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Party, NDC, Peter Obi, by Arise TV anchor, Oseni Rufai.
During the TV station’s morning show on Friday, Rufai pointed out that the NDC candidate appears unprepared for the 2027 presidential race.
Speaking to a guest during the program, Rufai said that, “as of today, Peter Obi is at loggerheads with the NDC and the OK Movement, amid widespread disarray. today, people are even asking where Obi’s manifesto is.
“Peter Obi was found nowhere in the fuel subsidy debate. There is flip-flopping in what he is saying on the subsidy debate; earlier, he said he would keep the subsidy; now he is saying he will remove the subsidy but that he will first correct the corruption there. So a lot of people are finding him flip-flopping.”
The TV anchor further claimed that Obi has also “lost a lot of people” who supported him during the last election cycle, wondering how the former governor of Anambra State will manoeuvre his way in the January elections.
Reacting, Bwala, in a post on his official X handle, described Rufai’s remarks as a confessional statement, stressing that the opposition is beginning to understand the reality.
“Confessional statement is admissible in court. Lolll eyes Dey clear small small”, Bwala wrote while sharing a video of Rufai’s remarks.
