Fear grips Zamfara communities as bandits burn vehicles

Daily Post about 1 hour 1 mins read

Residents along the Gusau–Dansadau road in Zamfara State are living in fear following threats by suspected bandits, forcing some people to stop using their vehicles and disrupting transportation and business activities.

According to a post by Bakatsine (@DanKatsina50) on X, the security situation has worsened following a reported attack on Yar Gada community in Magami Ward, Gusau Local Government Area, where bandits allegedly set residents’ vehicles on fire.

The incident has raised concerns among residents, who fear further attacks following threats reportedly linked to the burning of up to 250 vehicles in the area.

With some residents afraid to travel in their own vehicles, daily activities and commercial movements along the route have been affected.

Bakatsine expressed concern over the situation and called for urgent action from the government and security agencies to protect residents and their property.

“How long will people continue to live in fear and abandon their daily activities before the government and security agencies take decisive action to protect lives and property?” the post asked.
