The Federal High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has struck out a high-profile suit challenging the candidacy of the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the Ekiti South 1 Federal Constituency ahead of the upcoming January 2027 elections. 

​In a judgment delivered on Thursday, October 8, 2026, presiding judge Hon. Justice Babs O. Kuewumi dismissed the suit for lack of locus standi.
