FG moves academic certificate verification online

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The Federal Government has moved the evaluation and authentication of academic certificates online, ending the need for applicants to visit the Federal Ministry of Education physically.

The ministry announced the development in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, and signed by Boriowo Folasade, Director of Press and Public Relations.

Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, said applicants can now complete the certificate evaluation and authentication process through the ministry’s dedicated online platform.

“The initiative is a major step in the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda and aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.” Alausa said.

The ministry said the new system is designed to reduce delays in processing applications and make the service easier to access for Nigerians and applicants outside the country.

It added that the online system would also make it possible for institutions, employers and other relevant bodies to verify academic qualifications through a more structured process.
