The laws setting them up are also not exactly the same,” he said.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ahmadu said the ministry was collaborating with the National Assembly, which has the constitutional responsibility of making laws, to address the differences.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He added that the proposed harmonisation would strengthen coordination and reduce potential conflicts among the commissions.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The minister said the ministry was also developing a policy framework to guide regional development activities.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He explained that the policy document had been taken across the country to obtain contributions from Nigerians and stakeholders in the different regions.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to him, the document has been presented to the Action Alliance has also thrown its weight behind the political alliance led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>The Action Alliance says its decision is informed by the need to promote peace, unity and development in Rivers State, while pledging to work with the coalition and support its candidates across the state’s 23 local government areas and wards.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>The party’s State Chairman, Dumbari Nwigbarato, made the position known while announcing the party’s endorsement in Port Harcourt, on behalf of himself and the State Executive Committee.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Nwigbarato urged party supporters, political associates and residents to align with the Rainbow Coalition, expressing confidence that the alliance would contribute to the state’s progress.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>“We urge all our supporters, political associates and the good people of Rivers State to align with the Rainbow Coalition for the betterment of this state,” he said.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>He also called on whoever emerges victorious in the political contest to support other candidates and carry them along, stressing the importance of unity and cooperation.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>“We urge whoever emerges victorious to support and carry other candidates along in the spirit of truth, unity, love and progress of Rivers State,” Nwigbarato said.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Addressing concerns that the Rainbow Coalition represents Wike’s personal political agenda and a quest for national power in Rivers State, the Action Alliance chairman said the party’s decision was not based solely on the influence of one individual.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>He explained that the party was backing the coalition because of its own political structure across the state and the presence of its candidate within the alliance.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>“We are not only throwing our support to the Rainbow Coalition just because of one person. He was relaxed, engaging and harmless. He cut a sophisticated aristocratic look and didn’t look like he had “juju”. I had been invited by my brother Kola Abiola to come see the documentary on MKO Abiola, the winner of the June 12 elections.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Our President came with all the commotion that moves with him – over two hundred cars, APC colours all over the place, City Boy colours all over the place, his Son, Seyi in tow, Akpabio, the First Lady, so many traditional rulers and our Minister of Arts and Culture.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The minister is already priming for a post-service career in Nollywood as she unveiled her own mini documentary starring herself, which was beautifully rendered and well accepted.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>The documentary itself was well done. Beautifully narrated and featured almost all the actors in that saga. From Dele Momodu, Humphrey Nwosu, the cowardly umpire, MKO himself, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, to the Americans who saw MKO die and a host of others, including President Tinubu starring as a fiery June 12 activist.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>General Ibrahim Babangida was also featured. He looked sheepish and kinda ashamed of himself. Why he agreed to be interviewed, I am still asking myself in this Shomolu.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Anyways, the documentary showed the beauty of that exercise, the resolve of Nigerians to fight for their mandate, the treachery of Abacha and even MKO’s running mate who had gone ahead to receive an appointment from the same regime that refused them the actualisation of the mandate and the whole nine yards.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Where I was sitting, the contradiction of it all could not have missed me since I was not a bastard.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>This documentary being watched by the highest echelon of a party that is holding us down was about the actualisation of an election that was deemed the freest and fairest ever, and they sat there watching with a straight face? When they have not been able, and will not be able, to replicate that “freest and fairest” that we were watching.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>After it all, the indiscipline of it all shone through as the hordes of “party stalwarts” just stood up and walked away, even with the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces still seated.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Outside, it was bedlam as soldiers, air force, navy, guguru defence, police, boys scout, Man O’ War, all were scrabbling to outdo themselves in crazy driving, with sirens blaring and all of that.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp>Me, an orphan from Shomolu, just hung on to barbed wire before they come and march me with their convoy – it is ‘sorry’ they will tell my family and life continues. The commissioner said he would be arraigned on Monday, October 12, 2026.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other suspects were identified as Funkuro Bereh, 25, from Ekeremor LGA; Kelvin Adamu, 28, of Igbogene community; Vincent Ikieye, 20, from Gbarain, Southern Ijaw LGA; Benjamin Akeno, 26, from Okpoma, Brass LGA; Esuaye Ikeclear, 30, a musician from Famgbe, Yenagoa LGA; Gift Torie, 23, from Ikolo community; and Job Simon, 32, a businessman from Gbarain, Southern Ijaw LGA.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adewale said the suspects confessed to being members of the Bobos Confraternity, adding that some were scheduled for arraignment on Monday.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The commissioner said the command recovered firearms and other exhibits during the operations, including locally fabricated pistols, Beretta pistols, revolver pistols and an automatic pump-action gun.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other items recovered were nine rounds of live 9mm ammunition, five cutlasses, two battle axes, a drum, two cans of nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, 17 bottles containing a codeine substance, a large bag of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis and 20 cartridges.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the activities of the cult groups had resulted in the deaths of four persons.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adewale commended officers and men of the command, particularly personnel of the Doo Akpo Joint Task Force and other tactical teams, for their vigilance and commitment to the operations.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also praised community stakeholders, including tricycle unions, the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Bayelsa State, traditional rulers, Community Development Committees and youth leaders across Yenagoa, for their cooperation with the police.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He said the arrests demonstrated the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and residents in tackling crime.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\n\n\n\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">“The Command will not allow criminals to dictate the atmosphere in our communities. We will pursue offenders within the bounds of the law, wherever they may seek refuge.
