FIFA has now concluded its fact-finding mission to Nigeria.
During their two-day mission, officials from the world football governing body met with representatives of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, and the National Sports Commission, NSC.
Their intervention follows the resignation of former NFF president, Ibrahim Gusau and members of the executive board.
Gusau stepped down amid criticism over the failure of the Super Falcons to qualify for the 2027 Women’s World Cup.
Following the resignations, a former deputy general secretary, Emmanuel Ikpeme assumed interim leadership of the federation.
FIFA strictly enforces rules against third-party and governmental interference, and the sudden, wholesale resignation of an entire national executive committee immediately drew scrutiny.
Their delegation arrived in Nigeria on Monday, holding discussions with the NSC, including the chairman, Shehu Dikko.
They then held a meeting with the interim board of the NFF on Tuesday.
