Fire Guts Section Of Sokoto Central Market

A section of the Sokoto Central Market has been gutted by fire, destroying several shops, goods and other valuables.

The fire reportedly started at about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, with firefighters working to contain the blaze as residents joined efforts to put out the fire and salvage some goods from the affected shops.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established, while no authority has issued an official statement on the incident. The fire was still burning as of the time of filing this report.
