Nigeria’s Flamingos were crowned champions of the 2026 WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup after thrashing Togo 4-0 in the final on Sunday.
Captain Harmony Chidi was the star of the show, scoring twice from the penalty spot in the first half to put Nigeria firmly in control.
Oluebube Umejiaku added a third in the 67th minute, before Oluwakemi Adegbuyi completed the rout with a late strike in the 90th minute.
The victory capped a remarkable campaign for Akeem Busari’s side, who won all five of their matches, scoring 17 goals and conceding just two.
The Flamingos began their campaign with a 5-0 demolition of Niger Republic before defeating eternal rivals Ghana 4-2.
They then secured a 2-0 victory over Burkina Faso and defeated hosts Côte d’Ivoire by the same scoreline before Sunday’s commanding win over Togo.
With the WAFU B title secured, the Flamingos will now turn their attention to the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
