Residents of Amaegbu Akaeze in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State are facing renewed hardship as a fresh flash flood submerged the community early Wednesday morning, forcing families to flee their homes with children and salvaged belongings.
This latest surge comes just a week after a devastating flood ravaged the area last Wednesday, leaving many residents still struggling to recover.
In response to the escalating crisis, a joint delegation from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) is scheduled to visit the community today for an on-the-spot assessment to facilitate immediate relief operations.
The Director-General of NEMA, Zubaida Umar, is expected in Ebonyi State today to oversee the emergency response efforts.
