Focus on direct campaign to Nigerian people- Gov. Uba Sani advises opposition

Daily Post about 1 hour 3 mins read

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has advised the opposition parties not to react to what the All Progressives Party, APC, is doing on social media but to reach out to the people directly through campaign rallies.

In an interview with TVC, a Lagos-based television station, on Sunday night, the governor explained that if they are campaigning to win elections, they have to go out and meet with the people.

The governor stated that the only party that he sees reaching out through town hall meetings, other than the APC party, is probably APM, stressing that he has seen them going round and not the same with ADC and NDC.

He explained that a political party does not campaign by reacting to what another party is doing, advising them to go and do their own campaign.

The Governor noted, "Instead of canvassing for the people’s support, the opposition is using digital technology like Artificial Intelligence and doctoring pictures and posting on social media to disparage APC."

He said the APC is the only party reaching out, talking to the people, and whether the opposition decides to come together or not, will not bother it.

Governor Uba Sani stated that the National Chairman of APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatada, had promised that the North would give President Bola Tinubu 70% of its votes, promising that Kaduna State would give a higher percentage.

According to him, in Kaduna State, allowing any candidate to even get 25% of the votes is a failure on their side.

The Governor cited various projects that the president has sited in Kaduna State in the last three and a half years, which the people never dreamt of, adding that people can see development, see intervention and support.

He hailed the President for handing over the Ahmadu Bello Stadium to Kaduna State Government, promising to reconstruct it into a FIFA-standard 33,000-seat stadium.

On the reconstruction of the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari 123 km road, the governor explained that the N178bn has been released for the project that was abandoned for more than 40 years and thanked President Tinubu for the ongoing reconstruction of the Zaria-Soba-Kambuwa road and the proposed Kaduna metropolitan light rail project, the second in the country.

He added that$865m has been approved for the rail project, while the contractor, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, has been mobilised with $300m.

Uba Sani also stated that Kaduna State now has four federal universities, namely, the upgraded Federal University of Education, Zaria, the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia and the proposed Shehu Musa Yar’adua University of Petroleum Studies, Kaduna, as well as Kaduna Polytechnic, which has been converted to Federal University of Technology.

The governor believed that the only way the good people of Kaduna State can reciprocate the kind gesture is to vote for President Tinubu massively in 2027.
