Former APC woman leader killed in Bauchi

Daily Post about 1 hour 2 mins read

The former Zonal Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bauchi South, Mrs Jamima J. Dutse, has been killed by unknown assailants at her residence in Bauchi State.

Dutse was reportedly attacked at her home before the assailants fled the area.

Reacting to the incident, the Take-It-Back, TIB, Movement, Bauchi State chapter, condemned the killing, describing it as a “senseless” act of violence and an attack on the peace and security of the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday and signed by the movement’s Bauchi State Coordinator, Nazif Bashi, TIB expressed condolences to Dutse’s family, friends and associates, while calling on security agencies to urgently investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

The group urged the Bauchi State Police Command, the Department of State Services, DSS, and other relevant security agencies to identify and arrest those responsible for the killing.

It also demanded transparent communication from the security agencies, including regular updates to the victim’s family and the public on the progress of the investigation.

“Justice must not only be done; it must be seen to be done,” the group said, insisting that those responsible for the murder must be prosecuted and made to face the full wrath of the law.

TIB further called on the Bauchi State Government and security authorities to strengthen security measures, surveillance and intelligence gathering across Bauchi metropolis and neighbouring local government areas.
