Four members of a family have been killed in a fire incident at Rugan-Badali village in Karasuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The fire reportedly started after a nine-year-old boy allegedly set his father’s residence ablaze while he was away.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Yobe State Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police Yusuf Aliyu Adamu, said the fire engulfed the family residence while the father was away.

“Four persons trapped inside the house lost their lives in the inferno, including two stepmothers of the teenager and two children”, Police confirmed.

Neighbours were said to have rushed to the scene and made efforts to put out the fire and rescue those trapped inside the building, but to no avail.
