Fuel discount: How Atiku made Tinubu, APC, FG afraid – Adeyanju

Daily Post about 1 hour 2 mins read

Activist lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has said the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has made President Bola Tinubu, the Federal government, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, afraid.

Adeyanju said Atiku made Tinubu, APC, and the federal government afraid over the issue of fuel subsidy.

Recall that the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, had announced a 30-day fuel price discount at all Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, filling stations across Nigeria.

But Atiku described the 30-day fuel discount as a panic driven publicity stunt, adding that it is a desperate and temporary gesture that cannot repair the damage caused by the crushing cost of fuel.

Reacting, Adeyanju said Tinubu’s men, the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso are the only weapons fashioned against Atiku.

Posting on X, Adeyanju made the remark while commending Atiku for engaging in real opposition.

The human rights lawyer wrote: “Atiku Abubakar nice one. This is how to do real opposition. The only weapon fashioned against Atiku now are Tinubu’s men, Peter Obi and Kwankwaso.

“They are the ones that will ensure Tinubu is re-elected. Atiku has done extremely well to get Tinubu, FG and APC so scared on fuel Subsidy.”

He also declared that wearing a “Tinubu-Must-Go” T-shirt is not a crime because Nigeria is a democratic nation.

Adeyanju added: “Wearing a Tinubu Must Go T-Shirt is not a crime and can never be a crime except we are now in a military state.

“We are in a democracy. Even under the military, people wore Abacha Must Go T-shirts.”
