Fuel price: Resign, go back to school – SDP’s Adebayo tells Tinubu, team

Daily Post about 4 hours 2 mins read

The Social Democratic Party, SDP, presidential candidate, Adewole Adebayo, has advised President Bola Tinubu and his team to resign and go back to school.

Adebayo said this on Thursday while responding to questions in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

His advice stemmed from the announcement of 30-day discount on fuel sold by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL.

Recall that the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, on Thursday said the Federal Government is offering a discount on petrol dispensed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, for the next 30 days.

Reacting, Adebayo said, “If I were in their shoes, I would resign and go back to school and learn economics properly, so that I don’t cause harm to the government and to the people.

“President Tinubu’s fuel discount reminds me of Fuji House of Commotion. What they’re presenting is Tinubu’s house of commotion. It doesn’t make any sense.

“None of those people at the press conference represent the NNPC. NNPC is a government agency that has its own management.

“There’s no account in the Ministry of Finance that deals with fuel discounts. One month is not even short-term. It’s a flash in the pan.

“They didn’t refer to any law that authorized them to do the fuel discount. It looks to me that President Tinubu’s government is confused.”
