Full list of Super Eagles players with 100 caps as Iwobi achieves feat

Alex Iwobi has etched his name into Nigerian football history after making his 100th appearance for the Super Eagles, becoming just the fourth player to reach the milestone for the national team.

The Fulham midfielder achieved the feat during Nigeria’s international friendly against Portugal on Wednesday, joining an elite group comprising former captain Joseph Yobo, legendary goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and current Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa.

Iwobi, who made his senior debut for Nigeria in October 2015 against DR Congo, has been a key figure for the national team over the past decade, featuring at major tournaments including the Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup.

His century of appearances places him among the most-capped players in the country’s football history, underlining his consistency and longevity in the green and white colours.

Ahmed Musa remains Nigeria’s most-capped player with 111 appearances, followed by Vincent Enyeama with 101 caps. Former captain Joseph Yobo also ended his international career with 100 appearances, while Iwobi now joins the exclusive “Club 100” with his landmark outing against Portugal.

Nigeria’s Players With 100 Caps or More

  • Ahmed Musa – 111 caps
  • Vincent Enyeama – 101 caps
  • Joseph Yobo – 100 caps
  • Alex Iwobi – 100 caps

Before reaching the milestone, Iwobi had spoken of his pride in representing Nigeria and reflected on some of his most memorable moments in national colours, including the goal against Zambia in 2017 that secured Nigeria’s qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

At 30, the midfielder remains a vital member of the Super Eagles setup and could move further up the all-time appearance rankings in the coming months as he continues his international career.
