KAMPALA — Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has directed members of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) to stop discussing a paper recently presented by President Yoweri Museveni to the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Central Executive Committee (CEC), saying the matter should be left to him and the President.

In a series of posts on X on Thursday, October 29, 2026, Muhoozi urged PLU members to concentrate on mobilising public endorsements rather than debating the contents of Museveni’s paper.

“I hereby order all PLU members to stop discussing Mzee’s paper delivered to the NRM CEC recently. Leave these matters to me and Mzee. Focus on the endorsements from the people,” Muhoozi posted.

The directive comes amid ongoing political mobilisation by PLU, an organisation whose activities have included public endorsement drives and engagement with supporters.

Muhoozi also defended the organisation’s record, praising its members for what he described as fearlessness, courage and honour.

“No one can doubt the fearlessness, courage and honor of PLU! When everyone else was scared we rose up and defeated the terrorists of NUP. Long live Christ the King!” he wrote.

His reference to the National Unity Platform (NUP) was part of his characterisation of the political contest involving the opposition party. The post did not provide further details about the specific events to which he was referring.

In another post, Muhoozi announced plans to establish a women’s league within PLU, citing the contribution of women to the organisation’s support base.

“Some of the strongest supporters of PLU are women. They are fearless fighters. I have decided to form a Women’s League of PLU. I shall announce the chairwoman soon,” he said.

The proposed league is expected to provide a formal structure for women participating in PLU activities, although Muhoozi did not outline its leadership structure, mandate or planned activities.

He said the chairwoman would be announced at a later date.

The three posts highlight PLU’s continued focus on public mobilisation, internal coordination and the participation of women in its activities.

Further details about the contents of Museveni’s paper to the NRM CEC and the proposed women’s league were not provided in the posts.
