The Africa International Housing Show (AIHS), has continued to receive high-level endorsements from leading African housing institutions, former government officials and international housing leaders, strengthening its reputation as a major meeting point for Africa’s housing, real estate and construction industry.
Among the institutions that have publicly endorsed the platform is Shelter Afrique Development Bank (ShafDB), the pan-African development finance institution dedicated to housing and urban development.
Specially, Shelter Afrique, former Housing Minister, Dangiwa and international housing leaders hailed AIHS as platform for investment, advocacy and collaboration.
In its review of its engagements, Shelter Afrique Development Bank said it was “proud to have partnered” with the Africa International Housing Show, describing AIHS as “the largest housing expo in Africa” and highlighting its role in providing a platform for industry professionals to explore innovative solutions and network with key players.
The relationship between Shelter Afrique and AIHS goes back several years.
Former Shelter Afrique Managing Director Andrew Chimphondah, speaking following his participation in AIHS, said the institution benefited from the strong networks created by the event among developers, investors, funders, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders in the housing and real estate sectors.
He further called for stakeholders to continue using AIHS as a platform for advocacy towards addressing Africa’s housing deficit.
Former Nigerian Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, has also given a significant endorsement of the platform.
Dangiwa described the Africa International Housing Show and Africa Housing Awards platform as “a vital engine for advocacy, accountability, and continuous sectoral engagement across Africa.”
During his tenure as Housing Minister, Dangiwa also commended AIHS and its Chief Executive Officer, Festus Adebayo, for bringing stakeholders together to foster collaboration, showcase innovations and attract investment into the housing sector.
The endorsements add to the growing international profile of AIHS as it marks two decades of convening policymakers, developers, investors, mortgage institutions, manufacturers, professionals and development organisations.
The historic 20th Africa International Housing Show, held from 13–18 July 2026 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, also recorded significant commercial outcomes.
Post-event feedback indicated that exhibitors recorded over ₦35 billion in sales and business transactions, demonstrating the increasing importance of AIHS not only as a conference and exhibition but also as a marketplace for housing and construction businesses.
For organisers, the combination of high-level institutional endorsements and measurable commercial transactions represents the direction AIHS intends to pursue in its next decade — moving beyond conversations to investment, transactions, partnerships and tangible housing outcomes.
Chief Executive Officer of Africa International Housing Show, Festus Adebayo, said:

As AIHS begins its journey towards its next edition, the endorsements from Shelter Afrique Development Bank, former Housing Minister Ahmed Dangiwa and other international housing leaders provide further recognition of a platform that has grown from an industry gathering into an important institution within Africa’s housing ecosystem.
