Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has unveiled the new jerseys of Wikki Tourists Football Club ahead of the 2026/2027 Nigeria National League (NNL) season, sponsored by Shafa Energy.
The unveiling ceremony, held at the Government House, Bauchi this week, also featured the presentation of the club’s new Technical Adviser, Bala Abubakar Mohammed, and the introduction of the newly elected executives of the Wikki Tourists Supporters Club.
Governor Bala Mohammed who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government(SSG), Alhaji Aminu Hammayo, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the club’s development,and urged the management, players and technical crew to work collectively towards securing promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Hammayo announced a donation of N2 million to the club and another N2 million to the Supporters Club, bringing the total government support to N4 million.
Earlier, the club’s Sole Administrator, Alhaji Haruna Bako, disclosed that Wikki Tourists had participated in two pre-season tournaments and was working to strengthen its management and technical structures ahead of the new season.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Alhaji Bashir Ya’u, assured the club of continued support, while team captain, Shafiu Adamu Duguri, pledged the players’ determination to achieve promotion through discipline and hard work.
The event also featured the presentation of a club jersey to Governor Mohammed in recognition of his support, while the management and retired DIG Sani Mohammed were acknowledged for donating N1 million each to the newly elected Supporters Club executives.
