Gov Eno Marks Birthday With Support For Orphanages, Correctional Centres

 

 

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has extended humanitarian support to orphanage homes and correctional facilities across Eket Senatorial District as part of efforts to cater to vulnerable members of society.

Representing the governor, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Princess Emem Ibanga, led a delegation to orphanage homes and correctional centres in Eket, Esit Eket, Onna and Ikot Abasi Local Government Areas, where food items, beverages and financial assistance were distributed to beneficiaries.

The outreach covered Band of Hope Orphanage Home and Motherless Babies Home in Eket; Way to the Nations Children’s Centre, Land of Hope Foundation and Shalom Community Orphanage Boarding Home in Esit Eket; Motherless Babies Home in Onna; as well as correctional facilities in Eket and Ikot Abasi.

Speaking during the visits, Princess Ibanga said the gesture reflects Governor Eno’s commitment to compassion, inclusiveness and the welfare of vulnerable citizens in line with the ARISE Agenda.

She explained that the governor chose to mark his recent birthday by reaching out to orphanages, correctional facilities and other vulnerable groups across the state.

The commissioner conveyed the governor’s message of hope to the children, inmates and caregivers, assuring them that they remain valued members of society and will continue to enjoy government support.

She also commended caregivers and officials of the various facilities for their dedication to the welfare and rehabilitation of those under their care.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, heads of the orphanage homes and correctional facilities expressed appreciation to Governor Eno for the gesture, describing him as a compassionate leader who has consistently demonstrated concern for the less privileged.

They offered prayers for God’s guidance, strength and wisdom for the governor as he continues to serve the people of Akwa Ibom State.
