The Good Governance Advocates Without Borders has said that improved intelligence gathering, enhanced collaboration among security agencies and increased investment in modern military equipment had strengthened ongoing operations against terror groups across the country.
It said while security challenges persist in some regions, sustained military offensives, intelligence-driven operations and collaboration with local communities are yielding measurable results.
The group said recent months have seen intensified military operations against insurgents, bandits, kidnappers and oil thieves in several parts of the country.
It noted that security agencies have repeatedly reported the elimination of terrorist commanders, the rescue of kidnapped victims, the destruction of criminal hideouts and the recovery of arms and ammunition as part of the federal government’s renewed efforts to tackle insecurity.
Against this background, the group has announced plans to stage a series of non-partisan rallies across Abuja, Lagos and other major cities to commend President Bola Tinubu for the significant improvements in Nigeria’s security landscape under his administration.
The Convener of the group Charles Onoja in a statement issued Sunday explained that the rallies are aimed at expressing appreciation for the government’s efforts in combating terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and crude oil theft.
He noted the initiative was designed to celebrate the sacrifices of Nigerian security personnel and encourage sustained investment in the country’s security architecture.
According to him, the rallies are strictly non-partisan and should not be viewed through a political lens, stressing that national security remains a shared responsibility that requires the support of all Nigerians.
He added: “Improved intelligence gathering, enhanced collaboration among security agencies and increased investment in modern military equipment had strengthened ongoing operations against criminal groups across the country.
“Security is beyond politics. Every Nigerian benefit when communities are safer and businesses can thrive without fear. Our rallies are intended to appreciate the commitment of our security forces and to encourage continued support for policies that strengthen national security.”
