Guardiola To Leave Manchester City At End Of Season

InformationNG about 1 hour 2 mins read

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, is expected to leave the club at the end of the current season, bringing an end to his 10-year stint at the Etihad Stadium.

According to reports, Manchester City have started to inform sponsor partners that the departure of the 55-year-old, whose contract expires next season, would be announced imminently.

There had been a lot of speculations about the future of Guardiola in Manchester, which was heightened by the announcement last week that fitness coach Lorenzo Buenaventura will leave City at the end of the season.

Buenaventura have worked with Guardiola for the majority of the former Barcelona manager’s coaching career, leading many to believe it is a significant indicator of the City boss’ pending decision to leave also.

Since joining City, Guardiola has led the Cityzens to 17 major trophies – and 20 in all – including six Premier League titles, the Champions League, three FA Cups and five EFL Cups.

Meanwhile, former Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca, who worked under Guardiola at City, is reported to be the leading candidate to replace his former boss at the club.
