Chelsea forward, Morgan Rogers has named Brazilian legend, Neymar as his third-greatest player of all time, placing him behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The England international established himself as the most expensive British player in the summer transfer window after completing a £117 million move to the Blues from Aston Villa.
Rogers participated in an interview with Chelsea’s official media division through its CFC Unlocked platform, where he was asked to name the three greatest players of all time. He selected Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo before including Neymar on his list, praising the Brazilian’s exceptional technical ability.
“Neymar. There’s nothing he couldn’t do on the football pitch,” he said.
Santos player Neymar is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished players of his generation, alongside Messi and Ronaldo. Despite being only 34 years old, the forward has suffered numerous injuries, many of which resulted from his expressive playing style.
Neymar played alongside Lionel Messi at Barcelona, where they formed two-thirds of the formidable MSN attacking trio. He left Spain to join Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 2017 in a record-breaking €222 million transfer that remains the most expensive in football history.
He left PSG in 2023 to join Saudi Pro League powerhouse Al-Hilal, where he was largely unavailable due to injury during his two-year spell.
His contract was terminated in 2025 after just seven appearances, prompting him to return to his boyhood club, Santos.
During his spell at Santos, Neymar regained sufficient fitness to earn a call-up to the Brazil national team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He featured in the tournament for the Selecao before announcing his retirement from international football following their elimination in the Round of 16.
