Headmaster beg Gov Oborevwori to sand fill, build staff quarters in flooded school

Flood and weeds have overtake Ogini Primary School in Obotebe Community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.

Obotebe is the ancestral home of the current chairman of Burutu Local Government Council, Julius Takeme. 

DAILY POST correspondent, who was at the school reports that there are no chairs and desks in virtually all the class rooms with many blown roofs. 

There are fears that reptiles may also be taking refuge in the school. 

In a chat with our Correspondent, the Assistant Headmaster,Okoye Young said, “We just managing.” 

Young stated that the school needs more teachers because there are only nine teachers in the school. 

According to Young, “many teachers do not resume in the area when they’re transferred there because it is a riverine community.” 

He lamented the lack of staff quarters for teachers. “Even the compound, everywhere is flooded. So, we beg the government to come and help us sand fill the school compound.”

He said, “Because of the flood, we went on break for two weeks. If the government can help us to sand fill the school, the flood will be a thing of the past.”
