Nigerian rapper Phenom has revealed that a heartbreak led him to sleep with 200 women in a year for two consecutive years, disclosing that he contracted gonorrhea eight times during that period.
The rapper made this known while recounting how the experience affected him and how he eventually turned to God.
According to Phenom, his promiscuous lifestyle left him without peace of mind, as he constantly feared he had contracted HIV.
“It was one heartbreak, actually, that made me just go crazy. It was 200 girls in a year at the time. So I did that for like two years straight,” he said.
He added, “It was so bad. I didn’t even have peace of mind. I felt like I had HIV, man. If I should sneeze, I’ll be like, ‘Hey, I don carry something.’”
Phenom further disclosed that he contracted gonorrhea eight times within two years, saying the experience became so frequent that he could identify the symptoms himself.
“In two years, I had gonorrhea eight times. It was crazy. It was so bad that when I go to the pharmacist, I’ll tell them I have gonorrhea. They’ll say, ‘How did you know?’ I could diagnose myself,” he recounted.
The rapper explained that his life began to change after someone told him he needed to give up certain things to achieve his goals, which eventually led him to embrace Christianity.
“But I met somebody that told me, like, ‘Oh, for you to attain certain things, you need to let go of certain things.’ And I got introduced to God,” he said.
Phenom disclosed that he subsequently remained celibate for about 10 years before getting married in 2026, revealing that he abstained from sex with his wife until their wedding night.
“I also went celibate for like 10 years before I got married. And I got married this year as well. So, I didn’t have sex with my wife until our wedding night,” he stated.
He added that his transformation went beyond abstaining from sex, explaining that he became closer to God and experienced changes in other areas of his life.
