How assailants armed with pump-action rifle attacked Ondo Health Centre – Police

Daily Post March 28, 2026 2 mins read

The Ondo State Police Command has revealed how three suspected robbers armed with a pump-action rifle and cutlasses attacked a Health Centre located in Oke Ijebu.

A statement issued on Saturday by Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Abayomi Jimoh, said the facility was robbed at about 2:00 am Saturday morning.

The PPRO explained that the assailants invaded the facility, after gaining access by scaling the perimeter fence.

The statement explained that during the incident, three persons who were on duty at the health facility were forcefully dispossessed of their personal belongings including mobile phones and a POS terminal.

It was gathered that the suspects arrived in an unregistered black Toyota Venza vehicle, which was parked along the main road before carrying out the operation.

“The victims were subsequently whisked away towards the Olokuta axis along Ondo Road.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspects ordered them to remove their clothing and subsequently abandoned them in the bush before fleeing the scene. The victims however found a resort from nearby staff of Correctional Service.

“The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, has visited the scene of the incident and has directed a comprehensive and intelligence-driven investigation into the matter.

“Tactical and surveillance teams have been deployed to track down the perpetrators and ensure they are brought to justice”, the statement added.
