President Bola Tinubu has described his visit to Akwa Ibom State as a homecoming, recalling his days as an auditor with Mobil when he worked in the state.
Tinubu said he never imagined that he would one day become President and return to Akwa Ibom to commission an airport named after a former colleague who had served the state.
The President made the remarks during his one day working visit to Akwa Ibom State on Friday.
He recalled his time in the state, particularly his involvement in the development of Eket, noting that his experience there made the visit special.
“This is a homecoming for me. I was here in Akwa Ibom as a Mobil auditor. We built and developed Eket and did what we had to do.
“I never dreamed I would become President to commission an airport named after a colleague who has served this state very well.
“I must give compliments and recognise the fulfillment of this administration,” Tinubu said.
