Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, has directed police formations nationwide to fly their flags at half-mast in honour of the 25 Nigerian Air Force personnel and passengers killed in the October 5 aircraft crash.

Disu, in a condolence message, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and sympathised with the Chief of the Air Staff, officers and men of the Nigerian Air Force, as well as the families of the deceased.

The IGP described the victims as courageous patriots who paid the ultimate price in the service of the nation, saying their sacrifice and dedication to Nigeria would not be forgotten.

He said the Nigeria Police Force shared in the grief of the Nigerian Air Force and the bereaved families at the difficult time, assuring them of the Force’s support and solidarity.

Disu also prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased and asked God to grant their families, colleagues and loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
