‘I’ll leave my wife if she governs like Tinubu’ - Amaechi

Daily Post about 3 hours 2 mins read

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, has said he might leave his wife, Judith, if she becomes president and acts like President Bola Tinubu.

Amaechi explained that his sentimental attachment to Judith won't prevent him from detaching himself from her, if she governs the way Tinubu does.

He made this statement during an interview with Rapid TV, where he encouraged Nigerians to not vote for Tinubu in 2027.

According to Amaechi: "Right now, the person I’m closest to is my wife, not my kids. So, if my wife becomes president and starts doing the same things Tinubu is doing, I’ll be upset and won’t follow her, even though I love her. It’s either she changes, or I leave her."

Amaechi asked Nigerians to judge the president’s work, not let personal feelings affect their political decisions.

He added, "I hope Nigerians won’t let religion, politics, or ethnicity influence their choice. Just forget about Tinubu."

Amaechi also pointed out that Nigerians have already seen Tinubu’s leadership and should consider supporting the opposition in 2027.

He added: "There’s a difference between Tinubu’s group and ours. They’ve been tested, so you know the next four years will be tough. We haven’t been tested yet, so give us a chance."
