A 35-year-old miner, Ibrahim Jabir, has died after an illegal mining pit collapsed at Asaradan village in Jos East Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2026, prompting troops of Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12, under Operation Enduring Peace, OPEP, to respond.
“The troops arrived at the location and discovered the corpse of the victim, which had already been recovered by members of the community,” the sources said.
The deceased was identified as Ibrahim Jabir, aged 35.
The sources added that Keystone Division, Angware, had been contacted for further necessary action.
