Singer Davido has declared that he is the only billionaire’s child in the world who has successfully built a personal name and fortune independent of his family’s wealth.
Speaking during an appearance on the Vibes Podcast, the award-winning artiste said people often celebrate “grass-to-grace” success stories but rarely acknowledge those born into wealthy families who go on to carve out their own path and achieve remarkable success.
Davido argued that while many admire individuals who rise from poverty to riches, it is equally challenging for the child of a billionaire to establish an independent identity and earn widespread recognition.
According to him, “They love the grass-to-grace story, the young boy that was poor and became rich. But which other billionaire’s child do you know in the world, not talking about Africa, that has made a name for himself and also made a lot of money? You can’t count, you can’t name one apart from me.”
