Immogam Hotels and Resorts Company, has reacted to a story sourced from court documents indicating that it was in a legal tussle with Mansea Beach Hotel over a rent claim of over D22 million and an alleged attempt to pay this sum to an entity without the consent of Mansea Beach.
The story was published in The Standard yesterday. In its reaction, lawyers representing Immogam shared the following explanations, which they said should clarify factual errors in the story: ”While we acknowledge that there are suits pending before the High Court involving Mansea Beach Limited, Immogam Hotels and Resorts Company and Prince Williams Michael, concerning the rent of Mansea Beach Hotel, take notice that the rent due and owing to Mansea Beach Hotel from Immogam covering the period 1st June, 2025 to 31st May, 2026 has been fully paid to Mansea Beach Hotel as evidenced by the receipt (showing D14,362,500.00 paid to Manses Beach).
“Further, take notice that following the full payment of the outstanding rent, the claims by Mansea Beach Hotel and Prince William against Immogam have been settled as can be seen from the consent terms referred in your article.
“Further, and for the record, Abdoulaye Thiam is not the owner of Immogam Hotels and Resorts Company Limited, and we urge you to refrain from further publication of his image and references to him as “owner” of Immogram.
We are at your disposal for clarification or additional information you may need to ensure future reporting on this matter is entirely accurate”.
Mansea Beach’s lawyers object
However, lawyers for Mansea Beach have disputed that any payment was made to the rightful owner and wondered why the related suits are still alive in court if the main bone of contention, the rent being claimed, has been settled.
But Immogan’s lawyers maintained that they have paid the said rent and the matter dealing with consent terms is sub judice and will be treated in the next sitting of the court.
