Independence Day: After fuel price reduction, NNPCL filling stations offer Nigerians significant discounts

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Less than a day after the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N1,370 per litre, the state-owned oil company has offered Nigerians an N66 discount.

NNPCL made this disclosure in a notice on X on Thursday, in commemoration of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

According to NNPCL, Nigerians will benefit from a significant N66 per litre discount at any of its retail outlets from October 1 to 7, 2026.

However, NNPCL said Nigerians would have to use its mobile app to benefit from the offer.

“Happy 66th Independence Day, Nigeria.

“N66 off every litre of PMS at NNPC Retail today till 7 October. Pay with the app at any participating station. T&Cs apply,” NNPCL stated.

Recall that on Wednesday, NNPCL filling stations in Abuja and its environs reduced their fuel price by N25 per litre to N1,370 after Dangote Refinery cut its gantry petrol price to N1,325 per litre.

Earlier, MRS filling stations in Abuja dropped their fuel pump price to N1,370 per litre.

This means that Nigerians in Abuja and its surrounding areas can buy petrol for between N1,370 and N1,450 per litre.
