The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will on Thursday inaugurate the 2027 general election logistics committee.
Our correspondent, who is monitoring the event, noted that after the inauguration, the leadership of the commission will hold its inaugural meeting with members of the committee.
The meeting, which is taking place at the INEC headquarters in Abuja, aims to perfect all logistical arrangements for the forthcoming general election.
The committee consists of transport associations including the Nigeria Road Transport Union, Maritime Workers Union, Nigeria Airport Authority, Road Transport Owners Association, as well as the police, Air Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and members of the paramilitary.
The electoral umpire is expected to brief the committee on what is expected of them, to ensure that logistical arrangements and distributions for the general election are hitch-free.
The event is part of efforts to optimise operational excellence during the election.
