Nigeria’s oil production is set to get a boost as Ingentia Energies Limited has stated its commitment to achieve 30,000 barrels per day by 2030.
Mr. Victor Abgaroji, Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Company stated this during a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) at its headquarters in Abuja. “We are positioned for growth and will embrace it fully, but we will do so responsibly and strategically, guided by the lessons and experience we have gained over the years,” Agbaroji said.
During the engagement, Agbaroji highlighted Ingentia Energies’ operational progress, stating that the company has increased production to over 5000 bopd, representing significant growth since assuming operatorship of its asset. He noted that the achievement reflects the company’s commitment to operational excellence, responsible asset development, and value creation, while positioning it for its next phase of growth
He emphasized the critical role of indigenous operators in increasing Nigeria’s hydrocarbon production and advocated for performance-driven growth opportunities within the sector. According to him, companies that have successfully transformed assets into commercially viable operations should be recognized and encouraged through access to larger opportunities, as their track record demonstrates competence and operational capability. “Operators that have demonstrated technical competence, sound asset management, and production growth have proven their capacity to create value. Such achievements should serve as a basis for encouraging further industry participation and expansion,” he stated. The Chief Executive solicited the Commission’s continued support in advancing Ingentia Energies’ “30 for 30” ambition, underscoring the importance of regulatory collaboration in achieving the company’s target.
Responding, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, Commission Chief Executive congratulated Ingentia Energies on its achievement of increased production to over 5000 bopd and applauded their growth strategy while highlighting the importance of strict adherence to regulatory policies. She also commended the company for its commitment to regulatory compliance and encouraged it to continue upholding high standards of corporate governance as it pursues its growth ambitions.
Eyesan emphasized that strong financial capacity and technical competence remain critical prerequisites for operators seeking participation in future licensing bid rounds. She noted that companies must demonstrate the requisite technical expertise, operational capability, and financial strength required to responsibly develop petroleum assets and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the sector. Discussions also focused on developments within Nigeria’s upstream industry, the importance of adherence to regulatory policies for effective collaboration. The visit underscores Ingentia Energies’ commitment to maintaining constructive relationships with regulators and key industry stakeholders while advancing its ambition of becoming a leading indigenous energy company. With production now at 5000 BOPD and a clear roadmap toward its 30,000 BPD production target, Ingentia Energies remains focused on delivering operational excellence, creating sustainable value, and contributing meaningfully to the development of Nigeria’s upstream petroleum industry.
