‘Investigate Gbajabiamila too’ – Sowore demands after arrest of PFIPC DG

Daily Post about 3 hours 2 mins read

Human rights activist and presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has alleged that the arrest of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi over the alleged operation of a fake government agency is part of an attempt to cover up the truth behind a reported N400 million bribery scandal.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Sowore claimed that the arrest and reported treatment of Adeyemi “points to what appears to be an official cover-up rather than a genuine search for truth.”

He argued that President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, should also be investigated if the authorities are serious about uncovering the facts.

“By now, President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, should also be under arrest and investigation if the authorities are truly committed to uncovering the facts,” Sowore wrote.

He further alleged that the person accused of collecting the alleged N400 million bribe on behalf of Gbajabiamila had died under mysterious circumstances, while the hotel where the alleged exchange took place had been demolished.

Sowore also accused the Federal Government of attempting to obstruct justice.

“In addition to the real crimes, we are now witnessing obstruction of justice by the Tinubu criminal regime,” he said.

Police had earlier arrested Adeniyi Adeyemi in Osun State, hours after a bench warrant was issued by the court.

A Federal High Court in Abuja issued a warrant for the arrest of the self-acclaimed Director-General of the PFIPC, Adeyemi, after he failed to appear for arraignment on charges of forgery, fraud and impersonation.
