Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held talks with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, as both countries called for intensified diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation following the latest military tensions between Iran and the United States.

According to a statement from Iran’s Foreign Ministry, the telephone conversation focused on the rapidly evolving regional security situation and the importance of dialogue in addressing the crisis.

During the discussion, both officials stated that diplomacy remains the most effective path toward resolving regional disputes and stressed the need for continued communication and coordination to prevent the conflict from widening.

“The two sides stated the importance of using diplomatic means to resolve regional issues and emphasised the need to maintain contact and coordination to avoid an escalation of tensions in the region,” the Iranian Foreign Ministry said.

Qatar has played a key mediating role in previous engagements between Washington and Tehran, and the latest exchange signals renewed efforts to contain tensions and encourage dialogue amid growing uncertainty in the region.
