I’ve been in politics since 1987, waiting for who will arrest me for corruption – Amaechi

Daily Post about 2 hours 1 mins read

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, on Friday declared that he is not corrupt.

Amaechi disclosed that he has been in politics since 1987 and nobody has been able to arrest him for corruption.

Featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Amaechi also insisted that corruption under President Bola Tinubu’s administration is higher than what was obtainable during the administration of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

He said: “Corruption then is not as bad as this, you know the difference, if you are corrupt you hide it but these people are not hiding it, it’s so glaring.

“Have you asked yourself why they are finding it difficult to arrest me and I have been in politics since 1987. I read literature. I’m not an accountant; I don’t know how to keep money.

“I am waiting for the person that will prove that I am corrupt. Have you asked why they are finding it difficult to arrest me? And I’ve been in politics since 1987.”
