The Jigawa State Government has attributed the delay in the release of National Examinations Council (NECO) results for students in public secondary schools to a failed bank transaction involving payment to the examination body.
State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Isa Chamo, disclosed this while reacting to the delay in releasing the NECO results.
He explained that the delay was caused by a banking problem that affected the payment made by the state government to NECO.
According to him, “the result delay is as a result of failed bank transfer, funds paid to NECO were returned due to a bank transaction problem”
He said the state government had immediately taken steps to correct the situation and reprocessed the payment.
He said the matter had been fully resolved after NECO confirmed receipt of the payment, paving the way for students in public schools to access their results.
Chamo assured that the affected students would be able to check their results on the NECO portal from 6pm on Tuesday.
He urged students, parents and guardians to remain calm, stressing that the state government had settled all outstanding examination fees and resolved the issue with NECO.
“No student will be left behind,” the commissioner said, reaffirming the commitment of Governor Umar Namadi’s administration to the education sector.
NECO released the 2027 Senior School Certificate Examination results on Wednesday, September 24, 2027, but candidates in public schools across Jigawa were unable to access their results for several days.
