…Reveals how she met Yul on a movie set 3 years after her first marriage ended

By Benjamin Njoku

Judy Austin has broken her silence following her ex-husband Emmanuel Obasi’s viral appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, where he spoke about their failed marriage and made allegations against actor Yul Edochie.

The actress who is Yul’s second wife is now defending him publicly, warning critics to stop insulting him. According to her, Yul was “God-sent” to her and her two children after Obasi abandoned them.

Obasi, in the podcast, accused Yul of “harboring” his children despite being alive and able to provide for them. He also alleged that Judy blocked him from seeing their kids.

Reacting in a video, Judy dismissed those claims. She insisted that Yul deserves appreciation, not scorn, for stepping in when her ex husband was absent.

“Please, you people should stop insulting Yul Edochie. For everything, he has helped me take care of kids who are not his biological children, when the man who gave birth to them abandoned them,” she said.

“He has helped me be a father-figure in their lives, puts a roof over their heads, pays their school fees, and feeds them. For anything, you people should praise him for being kind and awesome, instead of insulting and destroying his name for what he didn’t do.”

Judy clarified that she met Yul Edochie in 2016 on a movie set, three years after her marriage to Obasi ended. At the time, she had no interest in acting.

“I met Yul Edochie in 2016 on a movie set for the very first time. Up till that time, I had no interest in acting. The executive producer of that movie was Mr. Oga Koroma, who I believe is still alive to bear me witness, with the production crew and cast. That was the first time I ever met Yul. That’s not a crime.” She credited actors like Sylvester Madu for encouraging her into acting.

Judy questioned the backlash against Yul, asking what message it sends to single mothers praying for support. “If we continue to allow people to lie and destroy someone who should be praised, what will be the fate of single mothers out there praying for God to send a helper? If a single mother is looking for someone to help care for her kids, and someone actually does that, and people now condemn the person, is that right?” The video has since sparked heated debate online, with many commenting on Yul Edochie’s role in Judy’s life and the welfare of her children.
