The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 election in Cross River, Sir Arthurjavis Archibong, has called on the people to take their destiny in their hands by voting a competent person that would change the present narrative in the state.
In his Democracy Day message made available to newsmen, the PDP governorship candidate, Archibong, urged the people to use the power that democracy has bestowed on them to elect competent leadership.
He asserted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Cross River, in the last three years, has shown a government that lacked direction, and incompetent.
According to him, June12 reminds us that power belongs to the people. It was earned by those who refused to bow to tyranny, and it must now be used by those of us who refuse to accept mediocrity.
“For too long, Cross Riverians have watched from the sidelines while our God-given resources, our beauty, and our potentials are wasted.
“For three years under APC, we have seen promises without projects, noise without results, and intimidation instead of accountability.
“Our roads are failing, our hospitals are empty, our people neglected, and our communities abandoned. That is not democracy. That is drift.
“Though our democracy sleeps in Cross River State, It is only waiting for us to wake it up.”
He vowed that the PDP government that he would lead when elected in 2027 would offer something different.
Archibong, who promised to serve for only four years, said his administration would focus on wealth creation, jobs, and economy revival, infrastructural developments, and inclusive leadership, as well as accountability and transparency.
