The Nafi'u Bala-led African Democratic Congress, ADC, has expressed satisfaction with the Federal High Court ruling that nullified the David Mark-led ADC.
The Federal High Court in Abuja, Thursday morning, nullified the leadership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, party, led by Senator David Mark, declaring all actions taken by the committee on behalf of the party invalid.
The ruling also invalidated the party’s process of nominating former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
Judge Peter Lifu said the Mark-led caretaker committee, which conducted the party’s presidential primary that produced Atiku Abubakar as its flag bearer, is illegal.
Speaking to DAILY POST via phone, Nafi'u Bala insisted Atiku Abubakar and his entire team were not bona fide ADC members.
He said, "The court has affirmed the truth today; these people came to cheat us. This party has belonged to us for years; we built it tirelessly. But after they destroyed their party, they came to hijack ours."
"This judgment will never change; it doesn't matter if they take their complaint to the United Nations."
"The court has ordered INEC to remove their names (from the contestants' list). We have our contestants from the Presidency to governors and all over."
"Today justice is served," he added.
