The Kano State Government has warned civil servants against violating established service rules.
The Head of Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, gave the warning in a statement on Monday, issued by the Office of the Head of Service and signed by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Rukayya Uba Sulaiman.
According to the statement, the government will not tolerate actions that undermine discipline and professionalism in the public service.
“Every civil servant is expected to perform their duties according to established procedures and ethical standards. These rules are binding on all workers, regardless of their rank or position, and must be strictly followed,” Maimota said.
She explained that strict adherence to the rules is necessary to promote accountability, discipline and effective service delivery across government offices.
The Head of Service also urged permanent secretaries, directors and other heads of departments to strengthen supervision and ensure that workers under them maintain high standards of conduct.
She said promoting discipline and integrity in the civil service would improve efficiency, build public confidence and support the state government's efforts to deliver better services to residents.
Maimota further called on civil servants to familiarise themselves with the applicable regulations and ensure that their official conduct reflects professionalism and responsibility.
