The Kano State Police Command has assured residents and visitors of adequate security arrangements ahead of the 2026 Maukibi Celebration scheduled to hold on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

The command, in a statement issued by its spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the security measures were designed to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, urged residents and visitors expected to arrive in the state for the celebration to maintain peace and uphold Kano’s reputation for hospitality and lawfulness.

The command warned participants against carrying dangerous weapons, dealing in illicit drugs and engaging in other activities capable of disrupting public peace or undermining the cultural values of the state.

It further warned that anyone found attempting to disrupt the celebration would be arrested, investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The police urged members of the public to report suspicious activities or emergencies through 08032419754, 08123821575 or 09029292926.
