Kano Sharia Court remands woman over alleged killing of husband

A Sharia Court sitting in the Post Office area of Kano State has remanded Bilkisu Sani Rogo in prison over the alleged killing of her husband, Malam Hamisu, in Bakin Kasuwa, Rogo Local Government Area of the state.

Bilkisu was arraigned before the court over allegations that she killed her husband after learning that he was planning to marry another woman.

During the proceedings, presided over by Judge Garba Hamza Malafa, the prosecutor, Barrister Awaisu, presented the allegations against Bilkisu before the court.

The defendant, however, denied killing her husband.

After hearing the matter, the court ordered that Bilkisu be remanded in prison and adjourned the case until October 13, 2026.
