Kano Sports Commission secretary dies

The Kano State Sports Commission has announced the death of its Secretary, Bashir Maizare.

The commission announced the development in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Ashiru Gidan-Tudu, on Thursday in Kano.

The statement said Maizare died on Wednesday night.

It added that the funeral prayers for the deceased would be held on Thursday at his residence in Kofar Wambai, Kano.

The commission described his death as a great loss to the sports community in the state.

It prayed Allah to forgive his shortcomings, have mercy on him and grant his family, colleagues and associates the fortitude to bear the loss.

The commission also prayed for the repose of his soul.
