Kebbi ADC to conduct fresh primaries for Kebbi/Kalgo/Bunza constituency

Daily Post about 3 hours 1 mins read

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Kebbi State says it will comply with a Federal High Court ruling concerning the parliamentary election for the Kebbi/Kalgo/Bunza constituency.

The party’s state Publicity Secretary, Haruna Haruna Maijega, said the state chapter had forwarded the judgment to the party’s national leadership and begun preparations for fresh primaries.

In a statement, Maijega said the court had directed a fresh election process within 14 days.

He said the party’s national leadership had scheduled direct primaries for Wednesday, October 14, 2026, across the 35 wards in the affected constituency.

According to him, the party had notified candidates, local government officials, supporters and other relevant stakeholders about the planned exercise.

Maijega said the party would ensure that the primaries were conducted fairly and that all eligible candidates had equal opportunities to participate.

He added that the ADC would continue to comply with court orders and uphold due process in its internal affairs.
