The Special Assistant on New Media to the Kebbi State Government, Comrade Uthman M. Jibo, has resigned from his position and announced his decision to join the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Jibo tendered his resignation from the government position on September 1, 2026, with immediate effect.
In his resignation letter addressed to the Secretary to the State Government, Jibo said the decision followed “deep reflection and a careful assessment of the current realities,” adding that personal considerations also contributed to his decision.
He said he was stepping aside to remain faithful to his personal convictions, principles and integrity.
In a separate letter dated September 2 and addressed to the APC Ward Chairman of Galadima Ward, Argungu, Jibo also resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, with immediate effect.
He said the decision to leave the APC followed careful deliberation and consultations with his political associates and supporters.
Jibo stated that he had decided to align himself with the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
He described his time in the APC as a valuable political experience and thanked the party leadership and members for the opportunities provided to him.
