The District Head of Gwandu in Kebbi State, Muhammadu Rasheed, also known as Sarkin Gabas, has died.
His death was confirmed on Wednesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Governor, Ahmed Idris, and the Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Abdullahi Idris.
Abdullahi said the traditional ruler died on Wednesday and that his funeral prayer would be held at the Emir of Gwandu’s Palace in Birnin Kebbi at 3pm.
“His Royal Highness passed away today, and the burial prayer will be performed at the Emir of Gwandu’s Palace, Birnin Kebbi, by 3pm,” he said.
Rasheed succeeded his father, late Alhaji Muhammadu Bashar Mai-Wurno, who was the eldest son of the late Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Haruna Rasheed.
Ahmed Idris described the death as a loss to Kebbi State and its traditional institution.
