The Kogi State Government has announced the purchase of 50 armoured vehicles as part of efforts to tackle insecurity and enhance the safety of residents across the state.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo disclosed this while inspecting the first batch of five vehicles that have arrived in the state.
He said the acquisition is aimed at boosting the operational capacity of security agencies and providing better protection for personnel during patrols and other security operations, particularly in areas affected by criminal activities.

According to the governor, the armoured vehicles will be deployed to security agencies operating within the state to support patrol activities and improve their ability to respond to security threats.
The state government said the initiative underscores its commitment to creating a safer environment for residents, businesses and communities across Kogi State.
It added that the acquisition represents a significant step towards strengthening the fight against crime and restoring public confidence in the state’s security architecture.
