ILORIN — The ancient city of Ilorin, Kwara State capital is, today, agog for the turbaning ceremony of the Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate, by the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari.
The event is scheduled to hold at the Emir’s Palace by 1 p.m. President Bola Tinubu, who is currently on vacation, is expected to be represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, at the colourful ceremony.
Governors, friends and associates of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq from far and near are expected in the Kwara State capital, today, to honour the NGF chairman at the turbaning ceremony. Also, traditional rulers from Kwara State and across the country are expected at the grand ceremony. Furthermore, captains of industry, as well as leaders and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, from across the country, are also expected at the occasion.
The entourage of the Vice President’s wife, Hajia Nana Shettima, is already in Ilorin for the Renewed Hope-backed ICT project of TETFund, where she represented the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to commission the project at Kwara State University on Tuesday. Vanguard gathered that the Vice President, before the turbaning ceremony, will commission the 11-floor Kwara Revenue House, along Ahmadu Bello Way, Ilorin.
The new Revenue House, executed by Governor AbdulRazaq, is the headquarters of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service. Also scheduled for commissioning is a garment factory along Airport Road, Ilorin.
